Our Clinical Psychologists provide psychological interventions to children, young people, and their families where there are concerns about the emotional wellbeing/mental health/behaviour of a child or young person.
Inclusive
We work with children and young people and are able to adapt interventions for autistic clients. We can work with parents and families to help when things have got stuck and it feels difficult to have positive interactions. We have experience of working with the following:
Parents
Infants
We can work with parents to help with the adjustment to a diagnosis of a disability (physical or intellectual) or illness, worries about bonding, and adjusting to becoming a parent.
Pre-school Children
We work with parents and carers of young children where there are concerns regarding feeding, toileting, sleeping, behaviour, and separation anxiety.
Children & Young People
Mental Health
We work with children and young people who struggle with experiencing anxiety, panic attacks, fears and phobias, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), low self-esteem/self-acceptance, low mood/depression, and anger.
Physical Health
We can work with children and young people who have a medical condition, illness, injury or long-term condition to help them adjust to, live, and cope with the impact. Health psychology looks at the biological, social, and psychological impact and promotes psychological well-being and minimising stress where possible.
Families
We work with children with attachment difficulties and disorders in birth and foster families where there has been developmental trauma. Adélie Psychology Ltd can be commissioned by Local Authorities and Regional Adoption Agencies to work with adoptive families and those on an SGO. We are an approved provider for Adoption Central England (ACE) and Adopt South West.
Tailored
We tailor sessions and therapy to each child, young person, and family we work with. We will work together to identify where you would like things to be different and make a plan together to move towards that.
Trusted
As regulated professionals, we are trained and experienced in using a variety of well researched and evidence-based psychological interventions.

Early Intervention & Prevention
Intervening early is often the best course of action, even if it’s just to put your mind at rest. Sometimes just having one or two sessions with a Clinical Psychologist can be enough to make changes. Contact us to arrange a free 15 minute telephone consultation to help you decide if you would feel comfortable and confident working with us.
