Through Adélie Psychology Catherine provides assessments and interventions in Warwickshire to children, young people and their families where there are concerns about the emotional wellbeing/mental health/behaviour of a child/young person.
Inclusive
Adélie Psychology work with children and young people regardless of their age, intellectual ability, or who they live with. Catherine is able to adapt interventions for children and young people with a learning disability and/or autism/traits of autism. Catherine can work with parents and families to help when things have got stuck and it feels difficult to have positive interactions. Catherine has experience of working with the following:
Attachment
Attachment difficulties and disorders in birth and foster families where there has been developmental trauma. Adélie Psychology can be commissioned by Local Authorities and Regional Adoption Agencies to work with adoptive families and children. Catherine is an approved provider of DDP informed therapy and specialist psychological assessments for Adoption Central England (ACE).
Infants
Catherine can work with parents to help with the adjustment to a diagnosis of a disability (physical or intellectual) or illness, worries about bonding, and adjusting to becoming a parent.
Pre-school Children
Catherine works with parents and carers of young children where there are concerns regarding feeding, toileting, sleeping, behaviour, and separation anxiety.
Children & Young People
Children and young people who struggle with experiencing anxiety, panic attacks, fears and phobias, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), low self-esteem/self-acceptance, low mood/depression, and anger.
Tailored
Catherine tailors sessions and therapy to each child, young person and family she works with. We will work together to identify where you would like things to be different and make a plan together to move towards that.

As a Clinical Psychologist, Catherine is trained and experienced in using a variety of well researched and evidence-based interventions. The main therapies Catherine uses are Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) informed therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), ACT for Adolescents (DNA-V), the Solihull Approach, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Therapeutic Play.
