Emma graduated as a Speech and Language Therapist from the University of Wales Institute Cardiff in 2000. Since then she has worked in the NHS, mostly in a specialist autism assessment and diagnostic team.  She is very experienced in the assessment and diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Conditions in children and young people.  She works independently as part of multi-disciplinary teams assessing, diagnosing and supporting children and young people with neurodevelopmental difficulties/differences and Speech, Language and Communication needs.

As well as specialising in providing assessment, diagnosis and support for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Emma is also experienced in working with other related conditions including Developmental Language Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Selective Mutism and reluctant talkers, Dyspraxia, Learning Disability, and Sensory Processing difficulties.

Catherine and Emma first worked together in 2008 in Solihull assessing and diagnosing children and young people with autism. 


Emma understands the impact that communication difficulties can have on a child and young person’s development in other areas including their behaviour and emotional and social wellbeing. She tailors her advice and support to families with understanding and empathy.
